1. Overview
Blaze Finance (ABN 22 935 873 433) ("Blaze Finance", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Blaze Finance operates as an authorised credit representative of Loan Market Group (Loan Market Pty Ltd, LMG Broker Services), Australian Credit Licence 517192, and this policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in connection with our vehicle, asset, personal and business finance broking services.
2. Who This Policy Covers
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refers to Blaze Finance. Because we operate as an authorised credit representative of Loan Market Group, some of the systems, tools and support services we use to run credit checks, prepare applications and communicate with lenders are provided to us by Loan Market Group, and personal information may be handled using that shared infrastructure as described below.
3. What Is Personal Information
"Personal information" has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act — broadly, any information that identifies you or from which your identity is reasonably apparent. This may include your name, contact details, date of birth and financial information.
4. How We Collect Your Information
We usually collect personal information directly from you — in person, by phone, or through this website or our enquiry form. We may also collect information:
- from joint applicants, co-applicants or guarantors connected to your enquiry;
- from lenders, credit providers and credit reporting bodies, where relevant to assessing your enquiry;
- from referral partners who refer your enquiry to us;
- from your representatives, such as accountants or solicitors, where they act on your behalf; and
- from Loan Market Group, where it supports our credit representative arrangements.
If you choose not to provide certain information, we may not be able to assess your enquiry or progress an application on your behalf.
5. What We Collect
Depending on your enquiry, we may collect your name, date of birth and identification documents; contact details; employment and income information; financial information such as assets, liabilities, bank account details and credit history; details of the asset or finance you are enquiring about; and any other information you choose to share with us as part of your enquiry, such as in the message field of our contact form.
6. Why We Collect, Hold And Use Your Information
- To assess your finance enquiry and identify potentially suitable lender options across our panel.
- To prepare, submit and manage applications with lenders on your behalf.
- To communicate with you about your enquiry or application.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) and as an authorised credit representative of Loan Market Group.
- To manage risk, including fraud prevention, and to keep records of the credit assistance we provide.
- Where you have consented, to keep you updated on your enquiry or send you relevant information.
7. Who We Disclose Your Information To
We may disclose your personal information to: prospective and actual lenders, for the purpose of assessing and managing your finance; Loan Market Group, our aggregator, and the systems and service providers it uses to support brokers like us; credit reporting bodies, where a credit check is relevant to your enquiry; referral partners, where your enquiry came to us through a referral; your own representatives, such as an accountant or solicitor, where they are acting for you; and government or regulatory bodies, where we are required to by law. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Overseas Disclosure
Some of the service providers and systems used by us or by Loan Market Group to support our credit representative arrangements may store or process information outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information continues to be handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Direct Marketing
We do not engage third parties to send you unsolicited marketing. From time to time we may contact you directly with information relevant to your own enquiry or finance needs. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing or calling us using the details below.
10. How Your Information Supports Our Recommendations
We may use lender-matching or credit-assessment tools provided through Loan Market Group to help identify finance options that may suit your circumstances and the lending criteria of our panel. These tools support our process, but any recommendation made to you is made by Brodie personally, not automatically generated by a system.
11. Updating, Accessing And Correcting Your Information
Please let us know if any personal information we hold about you changes. You may also request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below. We will respond to your request as promptly as we reasonably can.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No transmission of information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us online.
13. Cookies And Website Data
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to support functionality and understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
14. Government Identifiers
If we collect a government identifier, such as a tax file number, in connection with your enquiry, we will only use or disclose it as required or permitted by law, and will not adopt it as our own identifier for you.
15. Complaints
